
Heavy rain is expected to continue today in Hatyai and several parts of Songkhla province in Thailand, where 4,000 Malaysian visitors are said to have been stranded as of last evening.
The Thai meteorological department has forecast heavy rain on Sunday, before decreasing from Monday to Friday, according to Bangkok Post.
The news outlet also quoted the Thai department of disaster prevention and mitigation as saying that 10 southern provinces are flooded, affecting some 1.47 million people.
In addition to Songkhla, districts such as Trang, Satun, Yala and Narathiwat are flooded, but flood waters in Surat Thani and Krabi are receding.
