
After a poison-pen letter circulated branding him the “enemy within,” Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin has sought to reassure party members of his loyalty to party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
In his winding-up speech at the party’s eighth annual general assembly, Hamzah dismissed claims that he had tried to undermine Muhyiddin and pledged his full support to the president.
“Enough is enough. I want to inform all of you, I am the number one supporter of the president today. Whatever is required of me, believe me, I am your man,” he said.
Hamzah, who is opposition leader, also urged delegates not to be swayed by rumours or attempts to drive a wedge between party leaders.
