Bersatu Youth chief Hilman Idham has expressed moral support for his Umno counterpart, Dr Akmal Saleh, who is set to be charged on Friday with making statements with the intent of causing public alarm.
Hilman, who claimed trial this morning to the same charge, told Akmal to remain patient and strong in facing “this challenge”.
“My Bersatu Youth colleagues and I want to stand in solidarity with him. I hope that he stays strong and patient in facing this challenge.
“I have always said that one of the strengths of us youths is our idealism and principles. So I’m confident that we can all fight to defend our principles and ideals,” he told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur court complex here.
Hilman was charged with making a statement with intent to cause public alarm or fear in a TikTok video on July 30.
