A disturbing incident from Odisha, India, has sparked widespread criticism after a man was seen carrying his sister’s skeletal remains to a bank in an attempt to prove her death and access her account.
The man, identified as 52-year-old Jitu Munda, reportedly exhumed his sister’s skeleton after facing repeated difficulties withdrawing 19,300 rupees from her bank account. According to reports, bank officials refused his request unless he could provide either the account holder in person or proper legal documentation.
Munda, who claimed he had no official papers to support his case, allegedly carried his sister’s remains approximately three kilometres to the bank in an effort to verify her death.
