Indie Candidate Campaigns On Horseback For Melaka Elections

How far would you go to get the word out? Well for this candidate in the upcoming Melaka elections, he’s pulling out all the stops, and putting on the jockstrap.

Former lecturer Datuk Norazlanshah Hazali is an independent candidate for the Serkam seat, and graduated with a PhD in Food Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

In a creative move to abide by pandemic-imposed election guidelines, he mounted his horse Bonita while on the campaign trail, much to the amusement of the locals.

β€œDue to restrictions imposed under the new normal, campaigning on a horse is a good way to convey my message and convince residents to vote for me,” he said to Bernama.

It was reported that Norazlanshah made a two-kilometre journey with Bonita while visiting the nearby Kampung Paya Tanjung.
