
The education ministry will introduce a comprehensive student character development initiative in 2026, utilising an integrated approach embedded within existing subjects.
Education minister Fadhlina Sidek said the initiative does not involve introducing a new subject but will instead be incorporated into daily lessons to strengthen students’ moral values and character through practical application.
She said teachers would allocate some time during lessons to carry out character-building activities that focus on practicing and internalising values in daily life.
“This is very important in shaping the character of our children. I hope space will be given to teachers and students to go through this new curriculum journey starting next year,” she told reporters after an event here.
