Jennifer Aniston playing an against-type role with Jennette McCurdy’s best-selling memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died.
The memoir will be adapted in a 10-episode dramady series at Apple TV+, with Aniston playing a character inspired by McCurdy’s abusive mother.
McCurdy burst into the entertainment scene on Nickelodeon’s iCarly and its spinoff Sam & Cat. In her memoir, she details her years of “emotional, mental, and physical abuse” at the hands of her mother, whom she describes as controlling and narcissistic.
The bestselling book was released in August 2022, almost a decade after the death of McCurdy’s mother in 2013.
