
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, the president of Bersatu and a former prime minister, is likely to be apprehended by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today before being charged in court. Party information chairman Datuk Razali Idris, who stated that Muhyiddin was summoned to MACC headquarters, reaffirmed the matter earlier today.
“As the Dewan Rakyat is in session and Bersatu was scheduled to hold elections tomorrow, we view this as an injustice. In the same news conference, he also claimed the objective of the MACC’s action against Muhyiddin was to eliminate Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Bersatu’s chances of running in the forthcoming state elections.
Thus far, the Jana Wibawa stimulus project has resulted in charges against Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan and businessman Adam Radlan.
