Malaysian barista Nas Jaafar has put another feather on his cap after winning the 2026 World Brewers Cup (WBrC) Championship in Brussels, Belgium.
The first-ever Malaysian to win the championship
Part of the broader World Coffee Championship, the WBrC is a competition that tests the craft and skill of manual filter coffee brewing, requiring extreme precision, patience, and great control of multiple variables, including temperature and extraction time.
Nas placed ahead of other expert brewers from Australia, Hong Kong, the Czech Republic, South Korea, and France.
It’s a great achievement, but we’d say Nas should probably get used to winning. He previously bagged the 2025 Malaysia Brewers Cup, proving he’s a real talent to be reckoned with on the international brewing circuit.
