
A second-hand car dealer today began his 10-year jail term for raping a seven-year-old girl after the Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed his final appeal to set aside his conviction.
A three-member bench, chaired by Justice Zaini Mazlan, also ordered the accused, Ahmad Radzi Roslan, to be given two strokes of the cane.
Zaini said the sessions court and the High Court did not err in law and fact in finding that Radzi, 30, had committed the crime at the girl’s home in Ipoh seven years ago.
“The girl was a credible witness and her testimony was corroborated by medical evidence,” said Zaini, who sat with Justices Azmi Ariffin and Hayatul Akmal Abdul Aziz.
