Man in Ipoh Pleads Not Guilty To Unlawful Possession Of Offensive Weapons And Communist Literature

Leong Yew Chen, aged 35 years old, was charged for possession of imitation firearms, offensive weapons, police items and prohibited publications containing elements of Communist ideology.

Leong has pleaded not guilty to all charges but faces 25 years imprisonment and whipping if found guilty.

In the Sessions Court, before judge Norashima Khalid, Leong pleaded not guilty to two charges, one for unlawful possession of two rounds of live ammunition, an offence under Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

The second charge he pleaded not guilty to was under Section 7(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 for possession of two knuckle dusters.
