
The race for Melaka is heating up. With less than two weeks to the 20 November polling day, politicians on all sides are busy jostling to win over the hearts and minds of their would-be constituents.
With a ban on all election-related gatherings in place, many had to get creative to get the word out. Some candidates organise walkabouts in public places, while some even go door-to-door for a more intimate engagement.
Indeed, the precaution is necessary, with COVID-19 still looming large in the country.

Despite this, as the old saying goes, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. The politics of yesteryear necessitates large gatherings, and with certain key demographics not fully online, political partisans are seemingly throwing precaution to the wind.
