Have you noticed how some Hollywood movies rely on the staple formula of a man and woman meeting as strangers in a bar, hitting it off (or not, as the case may be), and at the end of our — generally sub-two hours of — viewing time, overcoming formulaic obstacles before ending up together, presumably forever?
