Over 50 Malaysian travellers have been unreachable by family members following a devastating flash flood in Nepal on Wednesday, 27 August.
“We are still gathering information on the Malaysians who are unreachable. Family members have been unable to establish contact with more than 50 Malaysians,” said Mohd Firdaus Azman, chargé d’affaires of the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu.
According to Firdaus, flooding along the Bhote Koshi River has hindered road access in the affected region, prompting the Nepalese government to deploy helicopters for search-and-rescue operations.
