The King of Pop is getting a biographical drama, with Nia Long and Colman Domingo playing his parents Katherine Jackson and Joe Jackson, respectively. And Michael himself will be played by Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the mega icon himself.
The film director, Antoine Fuqua, says,
“Nia has delivered iconic performances throughout her career,” Fuqua said in a statement. “I’ve been a fan for a long time because her characters stay with you. I’m excited to now work alongside her as she pours all of that into Katherine Jackson: a woman who was the glue, the rock, and the heart of the Jackson family during its best and its most turbulent times.”
Michael is expected to capture the singer’s legacy, comprising the bad and the good. The script is written by John Logan, who is also responsible for Gladiator, Sweeney Todd, and several James Bond movies like Skyfall and Spectre.
