
Genting Malaysia Bhd has been reminded again to take into account the interests and welfare of local residents and workers when imposing a toll on vehicles using the private road to Genting Highlands.
Pahang executive councillor Razali Kassim said the company should consider the needs of parents taking their children to school and residents who travel through the area daily, Bernama reported.
His reminder comes a day after Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman said Genting should ensure the toll rates are reasonable and do not place a financial burden on road users.
Genting should also consider providing special exemptions or discounts for local residents, employees, and families with children attending schools in Genting.
