
An aide to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says PAS appears to be enabling the violent conduct seen in yesterday’s forced eviction in Kampung Sungai Baru, which left a senior police officer injured.
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had earlier claimed the incident was an example of what could be expected if the Urban Renewal Act is enacted, urging the public to continue opposing the proposed law.
Kamil said this statement “seems to enable the violent and rude actions that took place in Kampung Sungai Baru earlier today”.
“To legitimise violence or physical aggression against security forces, when not a single resident was harmed by the authorities, is something that deserves condemnation and censure from all who love peace,” he said in a post on X.
