
PAS’s Manjoi assemblyman Hafez Sabri has apologised over a Facebook post on the security breach involving Sultan Nazrin Shah at the Perak state-level National Day celebration, after it went viral and drew criticism for being racially charged.
Hafez said his initial post, made based on early information, had wrongly identified the person involved.
However, he claimed that the post was manipulated by “irresponsible parties” who circulated a screenshot before he corrected it within minutes. The post has since been deleted.
“Unfortunately, irresponsible parties took a screenshot of my initial Facebook post almost instantly and spread it widely, pushing a narrative as if I was playing the racial card,” he said in another Facebook post today.
