PETALING JAYA:

A Bersatu division chief has called on PAS to mediate in the party crisis following recent disciplinary action against several Bersatu leaders.

Kota Melaka Bersatu chief Hishamuddin Karim said PAS, as Bersatu’s main partner in Perikatan Nasional, could help ease tensions in Bersatu.

Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan was sacked by Bersatu recently for allegedly violating the party’s constitution and code of conduct.

Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal was also suspended for the same reason.

Wan Saiful has said the current dynamics show that PAS now sets the tone for the coalition’s direction, with Wan Fayhsal stating that Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin is better placed to lead PN as he has the backing of PAS.
