The emergence of a viral video clip depicting a group of people singing ‘Negaraku’ while the Jalur Gemilang and the Israeli flag are raised has prompted the authorities to launch an inquiry.
The inquiry was conducted, according to Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Superintendent Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood, in response to a police report issued at 11.20 p.m. on Tuesday. He claimed that the complainant had told the police that the 47-second video clip had been shared in a WhatsApp group.
The original source of the video has not been confirmed.
“According to investigations, the incident took place in September while a group of locals were near the Israeli-observed Sea of Galilee. The trip was organised by Ziarah Kembara, run by a domestic travel business,” he stated.
