Best known for her role in romance film The Notebook and her iconic portrayal of Regina George in teen film Mean Girls, word is going around that Rachel McAdams is in talks to star in a new horror-thriller movie called Send Help with director Sam Raimi.
Send Help will be Sam Raimi’s first return to the genre following his cult-favourite Drag Me to Hell in 2009, and is said to combine elements of Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation, Misery, and Robert Zemeckis’ classic Tom Hanks-starring Castaway.
Although McAdams is usually synonymous with the romance genre —About Time, The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Vow, Morning Glory — this is not her first venture into the horror-thriller genre. She had previously starred opposite Cillian Murphy in Red Eye and Noomi Rapace in Passion.
