Actress Riley Keough had agreed to help complete her mother’s memoir, but Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of famed musician Elvis Presley, passed away from sudden death in 2023 from a small bowel obstruction caused by bariatric surgery she had years prior.
Keough, 35, decided that it was her responsibility to finish the book and send it out for the world to read, and understand her late mother up-close and personal throughout her lifetime including moments of love, grief, and addiction.
“It just felt like a kind of a duty that I had to complete for her,” Keough said. “I’m just happy that it’s done and that it’ll be in the world and there for people to read.”
Despite being the daughter of the King of Rock & Roll, Keough said all her mother wanted through her memoir was to “connect with people on a human level.”

Keough made her debut in the 2010 film The Runaways, before moving on to star in Mad Max: Fury Road, and many more.
