Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has clarified that the RM1,000 aid for flood victims that was announced will be for all that were affected, and not just those who were evacuated from their homes.
However, according to The Star, the cash handout will only be given provided that their names are already registered with the district office in their respective area.
“Even victims who were not evacuated will be paid… I hope the payouts can be expedited as many have suffered losses.”

Last Sunday, Ismail announced the RM1,000 aid as part of a larger RM100mil fund to repair infrastructure and houses damaged by the floods nationwide.
Of the amount allocated, RM50mil will be channeled to the National Disaster Relief Fund, from which the aid will be disbursed, reported Malay Mail.
“This allocation will be increased from time to time according to need,” he said then.
