In a brazen morning heist that took place yesterday (23 Feb), three masked robbers made off with RM349,000 in cash in just five minutes after they blew up two automated teller machines (ATMs) at a bank in Setia Alam.
Reports indicate that the robbers entered the bank around 6:48 am, blinded the CCTV cameras, then quickly blew up the ATMs before escaping with the money still in the cartridges.
Two badly damaged ATM machines estimated to be worth RM60,000 were left behind after the heist.
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner, Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, confirmed that investigators on the scene were able to identify three suspects who were seen entering the premises in a white car suspected to be a Mitsubishi ASX.
