Many have been speculating that Taylor Swift will make an appearance in the anticipated summer blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine — probably as Dazzler, a mutant with a singing career. And hey, looks like Ryan Reynolds have even met with a Grammy-winner singer in regards to the film…except it’s not Taylor Swift.
Rather, it was Madonna herself, in order to procure the rights to user her 1989 song Like a Prayer in the film. Both Reynolds and director Shawn Levy paid the iconic musician a visit to personally ask permission to use the classic tune in Wade Wilson and Logan’s big-screen MCU team-up.
“Also, let’s preface it with the fact that they don’t license — that Madonna doesn’t just license the song, and particularly that song has not been licensed. So, it was a big deal to ask for it and certainly a bigger deal to use it. So, yeah, we went over and met with her and showed her how it was being used and where and why,” Reynolds explained.
Watch the film so you don’t miss out!
