Bucky Barnes, the bestfriend of Steve Rogers (Original Captain America) will be picking up his weapons again in new Marvel film Thunderbolts*!
Played by Sebastian Stan, the actor hinted that he “never would have thought” that his character would end up where he is in Thunderbolts*, and that his arc in the film will be “fun” to watch.
“I never would have thought we would have ended up where we have with him, but it’s a very interesting group of characters, and they all bring out different sides of themselves,” Stan said. “I think [Bucky] finds himself way more suited to them than initially maybe he wants to admit, but he’s always an evolving character, and that’s what I love about him. It’s always trying to find another way of expressing. I think it’ll be fun. I think people will be excited for the movie.”
The character has been in every single Captain America film (Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War), a post-credit scene in The Black Panther, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
He then reprised his role opposite Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in their series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Stan is currently riding the hype of his two latest films A Different Man, and The Apprentice where he plays Donald Trump.
