PETALING JAYA:

A senior Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officer and two others detained yesterday over alleged corruption have been remanded for four days.

It is understood that the arrests are linked to the procurement of an information technology (IT)-related project, with the corrupt practices believed to have been ongoing for 11 years.

In a Berita Harian report, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Azam Baki said the anti-graft agency sought a remand order to facilitate further investigations.

“The MACC obtained a four-day remand order (until Friday),” he said.

Azam said statements would be recorded from 15 witnesses, adding that more could be called in the future.
