LOCAL horror movie ‘Waruga: Kutukan Ilmu Hitam’ is inspired by the ancient funerary practise of the Minahasa people. To the Minahasa — who hail from Sulawesi in Indonesia — ‘waruga’ refers to a burial place or tomb.
