“JALAN BAPAK AKU, OK” (My father’s road, okay) scrawled on a board pinned to a road sign looks to be a harbinger of doom of sorts. On any other given day, I would’ve chuckled but I’m about to drive off the beaten path through an off-road that seems to lead to nowhere. Well, if nowhere is where a shelter for unwanted animals is located, that is.
