In just its first five days, Stranger Things season 5 racked up 59.6 million views — the highest premiere-week total ever for an English-language Netflix series, and the third-biggest debut across all Netflix shows, surpassed only by Seasons 2 and 3 of the Korean sci-fi hit Squid Game.
The series continues to follow the core group of young heroes from Hawkins, Indiana, including Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers.
The adult cast also returns, featuring the fantastic Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, and Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, all of whom play pivotal roles in the town’s ongoing battle against the supernatural forces from the Upside Down.
This season launched with four episodes initially, followed by three more premiering on Christmas Day, and the finale dropping on December 31st.
