If you are a fan of Euphoria, you might be familiar with Sam Levinson’s work and signature colour grading as well as cinematography. And it looks like his offering The Idol, featuring a star-studded cast like The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan and Jennie from BLACKPINK, has been canned by HBO.
An HBO spokesperson has stated, “’THE IDOL’ was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We’re grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work.”
The series has received strong criticism for its heavy sexual content and storyline, which revolves around Jocelyn, a superstar desperate to make a name for herself again after a mental breakdown. She later falls for Tedros, a cult leader.
You can still watch the first season of this series on HBO!
