The Strokes have teased the release of their new album, Reality Awaits, with a single called ‘Going Shopping’.
The album, slated to drop on 26 June 2026, will be their first new LP in six years, with the last one being The New Abnormal from 2020. So if you thought they just randomly disappeared, think again.
The new album has great timing (and phrasing)
Their previous studio album, The New Abnormal, was dropped just one month after COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. With the upcoming release of the latest album, it’s kind of poetic that it’s called Reality Awaits, as we’ve all long come to terms with the new normal, thus our new reality of sorts.
