Umno to send protest note to unity govt parties accepting its members
Umno will send a protest note to the leaders of parties in the unity government who are planning to welcome its members into their fold.
Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said tonight the protest note represents a “stern warning” to the other components in the unity government.
“If this matter (of the other parties accepting Umno members into their fold) is not dealt with, it will complicate the relationship among the components,” he said in a statement.
Last week, investment, trade and industry minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz confirmed that his application to join PKR had been accepted two weeks earlier.
