PETALING JAYA:

Warisan has begun lodging police reports across Sabah over what it claims to be widespread distribution of defamatory and misleading campaign materials targeting the party during the 17th state election.

Warisan deputy president and election director Darell Leiking said the materials, including flyers and written content, were unacceptable and constitute a serious election offence.

He said the police reports cite violations under the Election Offences Act 1954, including Section 4A for promoting racial or religious ill-will and Section 9 for making false statements about candidates, as well as provisions for defamation and sedition under the Penal Code.
