Based on the book The Antisocial Network released in 2021, the film captures the true story of how a group of private investors and internet trolls “brought Wall Street to its knees and got rich by turning the video-game retailer GameStop into the world’s hottest company”.
Dano plays Keith Gill, the YouTuber who set the gears into motion by investing all of his life savings into GameStop and encourages others to do the same. Ferrera plays Jennifer Campbell, one of Gill’s YouTube channel viewer. And if you’re a big fan of Ferrera, you can catch her in Barbie when it hits theatres in July!
Dumb Money is set to release in September.
