While Jenna Ortega is already playing the title role in the first season of Wednesday, she is climbing up into a producing role this coming season! And as such, Ortega has revealed some of her priorities in terms of the direction the series is headed towards.
“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” Ortega explained. “Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”
She adds that,
“We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”
In the past, Ortega has commented that the plot “made no sense” for her character.
