Zahid pledges 100 new homes in each Sabah seat

TUARAN:

Every state constituency in Sabah will see 100 new houses being built next year with repairs carried out to other houses, deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.

The new houses will be built under the Rakyat Sejahtera housing programme of the rural and regional development ministry, said Zahid, who is also the minister.

Zahid said Sabah had received RM136 million in allocations under the scheme, involving 852 new units and 2,729 repaired units.

“From that total, the Tuaran parliamentary constituency received RM6.6 million for 43 new units and 123 repaired units,” he said at the launch of the Sentuhan Kasih Desa programme tonight.

He said the Sentuhan Kasih Desa programme was an initiative to empower the economic status of rural entrepreneurs via sales promotion, support services access and exposure to wider markets.
