High school films, pretty much got us through all our high school years.
Okay yes, they may be a little, shall we say, larger than life (because we don’t just wake up one day and find out we’re actually a princess! – still waiting for that “you’re a princess” call BTW) but who cares! Watching these extremely complicated friendship (and romantic) dynamics films, is still sooo nostalgic, so what’s not to love!
Here are 10 best high school movies, for that good throwback!
1. Mean Girls
School drama, girl fights, cliques is everything we go through. But no one does revenge better than Regina George.
2. Clueless
You could watch this movie a million times and not get over their 90s fashion and lingo. It’s a rom-com to be forever loved.
3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower
15-year-old Charlie, an introvert, enters high school and is nervous about his new life. After becoming friends with his seniors, he learns to cope with his friend’s suicide and his past.
4. Princess Diaries
What girl didn’t want to look like a million bucks in school and get noticed by the cute guy they’ve been eyeing on anddd find out they are a princess in line to take over the throne of a small European country???- Mia Thermopolis apparently.
5. High School Musical
You can’t have the best high school movies without including high school musical! The soundtrack of the film still rings heavily in our minds today.
6. Hairspray
If high school included singing, dancing and Zac Efron gazing at us everyday through all the class, having 100% attendance would be easy-peasy.
7. 10 Things I Hate About You
A high-school boy, Cameron, can’t date hottie Bianca until her anti-social older sister, Kat, has a boyfriend. So, in order to get her, Cameron pays bad boy, Patrick, to charm and date Kat.
8. A Cinderella Story
Don’t lie, some of us are still confused how a masquerade ball could mask Cinderella and her prince charming’s identity, to the point where they can’t even recognize each other at school.
9. Bring It On
Bring it on was the shizzz…high school cheerleading never looked so good.
10. Superbad
Boy will be boys. But, who can forget McLovin?! Superbad is the highest on our ranks as one of the best high school films out there.
