
After putting up fake advertisements for sexual services using pictures of girls he downloaded from the internet, a Singaporean teenager managed to scam victims more than S$30,000(RM95,510). It all started in late 2019 when he was just 16 years old.
According to Malay Mail, the court heard that the unnamed teen and a 20-year-old man masqueraded as women to run sex scams on Locanto, an online classified website.
They posted advertisements for sexual services using photos of women they had downloaded, and communicated with victims on Telegram.
For his crimes, the teenager, who is now 18, was sentenced to 18 months of probation on Wednesday (18 May). He cannot be named as he was under 18 at the time of the offences and therefore protected under the Children and Young Persons Act.
