IT’S my first morning in Zaandam, a city located by the river Zaan just north of Amsterdam, and the town greets me like a warm hug. The air is crisp and invigorating, carrying with it the quiet promise of discovery. Above me, the sky stretches wide and blue, its colour as fresh and vibrant as the town itself.
