We have heard it all before. When someone famous dies, especially not of natural causes, they leave behind conspiracies abound. Most of the times, their deaths conjure up tonnes of rumours hinting at foul play: a secret stalker? Someone from their inner circle to make a grab for their money? But the death of these few celebrities is still shrouded in mystery, years after their passing. So what gives?
1. Brittany Murphy, 2009

Brittany was America’s sweetheart before her tragic death took away her life. Her death was announced primarily due to pneumonia, with secondary factors being iron-deficiency anaemia and multiple drug intoxication. However, it raised many eyebrows especially when her late husband was found dead as well in the same house within the next few months. His death was said to have been caused by acute pneumonia and severe anaemia as well.
What??? How can this be? Pneumonia and anaemia are not even contagious!
2. Natalie Wood, 1981

Natalie was a child star who successfully transitioned into young adult roles without going off the rails. She received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in ‘Rebel Without a Cause’, In 1981, Natalie disappeared from her yacht and her body was found hours later, floating in the water about a mile away. At the time, her death was ruled as an accident but the case was re-opened in 2011. A year later, the cause of her death was changed to “drowning and other factors.”
3. Marilyn Monroe, 1962

A classic beauty, the life of this iconic star came to an abrupt halt at the age of 36. She was found dead in her bed, apparently due to a barbiturate overdose and was ruled as suicide. But fans aren’t having it! Many speculated that she was murdered and that the Kennedys probably had something to do with it as Marilyn allegedly had affairs with both President Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy. They theorised that the Kennedys feared that she would make their love affairs public, or that she would let government secrets slip.
While we are all eager to find out if these deaths are exactly what they are, please be careful with what you say and remain respectful of those who have left us and their families.
