Friends’s Matthew Perry Splits From Fiancée, Adding To Public Concerns For His Well-Being

today3 June 2021

Background

It appears that Matthew Perry, who is most famous for his portrayal of the character Chandler Bing on hit sitcom Friends, has separated from his fiancée of seven months. The short-lived engagement between the 51-year-old actor and the 29-year-old literary manager named Molly Hurwitz fell apart with Perry citing,

“Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly [Hurwitz] the best.”

The pair began dating in 2018 before moving their relationship to the next level last year. They were said to be on a break when Perry was outed on a dating app for his alleged flirty exchange with a 19-year-old girl.

The actor is also known for his struggles with addictions in the past, and his appearance on the Friends reunion sparked concerns from fans when they noticed his “slurred speech”. However, this issue was cleared up when a source said that Perry had an emergency dental procedure the same day of the filming.

“Matthew (Perry) has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry,” they added.

A fan voiced their concern by tweeting,

“Is Matthew [Perry] ok?”

Another fan wrote,

“Just saw [the] People interview and can’t believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart.”

One fan left a heartfelt comment, saying,

“I wish Matthew Perry so much solace and peace, he’s been through so much and I really appreciate him doing this appearance for us,” another commented on the video.

His addictions were so bad that he was hospitalised for alcohol-induced pancreatitis in 2000. Regarding his troubled past with addictions, Perry said,

“I was able to stay sober for a brief period but I didn’t really get it.”

Fans are worried that this latest heartbreak in Perry’s life would spell more troubles ahead for him.

We wish the best for Perry and are here to support him no matter what.
