Swifties have been trained to look for clues, hints and signs in everything that Taylor Swift does – so much so that much of the year is spent speculating when and if the 31-year-old will be releasing new music. Swift is infamous for her subtle (and, honestly, ingenious) easter eggs! However, even after more than 15 years in the industry, she still manages to catch fans by surprise. Most recently, Swift has outdone herself by dropping a surprise second album (‘Evermore’), mere months after her first (‘Folklore’). Now, however, fans are speculating that there will be more to the story with a part three! Of course, not everything that fans speculate actually happens – but they’ve been quite spot on thus far (Example: when Swift confirmed Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ third daughter’s name is Betty). So what are the signs pointing to a third album?
First…
In the ‘Folklore’ deluxe CD set, fans have discovered the words ‘woodvale’ hidden in the tress in a black and white image:

The significance of the word? Another Twitter user pointed out that in the lyrics for ‘Tis The Damn Season’, Swift sings:
“I parkеd my car right between the Methodist
And thе school that used to be ours”
As it turns out, in the area that Swift grew up in, there are a few schools by a Methodist church – and one of the lanes in the surrounding area is named ‘WOODVALE AVE’.

Secondly…
The merchandise that Swift has released in conjunction with both ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’. There is a running theme of ‘sets of three’, with the hair scrunchies (available in red, green, and blue), Cardigan sweaters (sold in black-and-white, beige and red, and grey and green) as well as the candles (a red one for ‘Folklore’ and a green one for ‘Evermore’ – but no ‘blue’ candle yet!).

There’s also this adorable (although slightly far fetched) connection…
Okay, so, Swift has three cats – there’s Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey, these two are sisters. The newest addition to their family is a ‘brother’ named Benjamin Button. Now, following that, we’ve got Swifts ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ that are ‘sister’ albums; so, ‘Woodvale’ could be the brother album? A litttttllleeee but of a stretch BUT there’s also the fact that the facts are wearing the corresponding colours (red, green and blue) in Swifts holiday card for 2020.

PLUS…
Swift herself has said that she “just couldn’t stop writing songs”. At the time, she’d tweeted:
To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”
BUT…
In her most recent televised appearance, Swift herself addressed these rumours. While speaking to Jimmy Kimmel on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, she said:
“Basically, when I was making ‘Folklore’ — the album that came out back in July — I was too afraid to unveil the title of the album to even my closest teammates and management. I didn’t tell anyone the album title before it came out,” Swift said. “I came up with a fake code name that had the same amount of letters as ‘Folklore,’ chose a random name, chose ‘Woodvale,’ wanted to see how it would look on the album covers, mocked them up, and then decided, ‘I don’t actually wanna have a title on the album covers,’ and we forgot to take the fake code name off of one of them.”
She went on to say that the same happened for ‘Evermore’ but she had remembered to remove them beforehand. She told Kimmel that she’s “so tired” and that she’s “tired [her]self out” so no, there will not be a third part to the story.
