The Australian Government has announced the adoption of a 30% tax offset for video games development in Australia, a move intended to strongly boost the sector and enable it to snare a far bigger slice of the $250 billion global games development industry.
The new initiative was announced this morning as part of what the government has dubbed its Digital Economy Strategy. Full details are set to be released on Budget night next week.
