On February 25, 2021, Malaysia’s Federal Court declared that criminalizing unnatural sex is now unconstitutional in the state of Selangor.

It’s been dubbed as a tiny win for the Malaysian LGBTQ community.

In its ruling, the nine-member bench led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat declared Selangor’s Syariah Law of criminalizing unnatural sexual intercourse as unconstitutional.
