‘Disaster Girl’ Makes US$500,000 After Selling Meme As An NFT
Zoë Roth, who became Internet-famous after a picture of her smiling in front of a burning house went viral more than a decade ago, has sold the original copy of the meme for half a million US dollars.
According to the New York Times, Roth sold the meme as a non-fungible token (NFT) at an auction for 180 Ether – a form of cryptocurrency – that is worth about US$495,000 as of April 29 (Thursday).
