A Man “Traveled Across The Country” To Kill Kendall Jenner

The Kardashians are a very high profile family. They’re always jetting about and posting about their lives on their social media (as any normal person would do). The family have a hand in everything from business to fashion to TV and their likeness is often splashed across different platforms – in ads, on TV, in stores. This probably lends to the fact that Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have a combined worth of $2 billion (as per Forbes in September last year). As a result of constantly being in the public eye, unfortunately, the family is often targeted for their wealth (as Kim K was back in 2016 while in Paris). In Kendall Jenner’s case, however, she’s found herself needing to attain a restraining order after receiving death threats.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ,  the 25-year-old model applied for and has been granted a restraining order to keep a 24-year-old man named Malik Bowker away from her. Jenner claims that Bowker “traveled across the country to gun her down. Jenner was informed of the plan after a detective from the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) revealed to her that Bowker’ had allegedly planned to buy an illegal firearm to shoot her and then himself. The documents also state the authorities warned her about Bowker as, despite being temporarily held at the psychiatric hold at a local hospital, he may be released soon.

And while she has the necessary security in place, Jenner says the threats are “causing her severe emotional distress and anxiety”. The restraining order, a temporary one (TRO), means that Bowker must remain 100 yards (91.44m) away from her. But due to the nature of TRO’s, the order will only be valid for a few days or until the court can hear further evidence. Bowker’s motives for wanting to harm Jenner remain unknown.

This is not the first time the young socialite has reportedly faced death threats – having once faced intense cyberbullying from Harry Styles fans after being spotted out to dinner with him. It is also inot the first time she has found herself followed by strangers. Back in 2016, Kendall found 25-year-old Shavaughn McKenzie standing in the driveway of her West Hollywood home. He received jail time for trespassing after he followed her car into her driveway.  In 2017, a judge granted her a restraining order against Thomas Hummel, who had mailed her love letters for months. Then in 2018, 37-year-old Canadian John Ford was arrested after he broke into her LA home (which, by the way, he got into by scaling the mountainside behind her gated community!!!) for the third time and reportedly stared through her window. The psychological toll of these instances was discussed on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, where Jenner shared:

“I used to be the one who was so independent. I was always kind of by myself, in a good way — but now it’s fully flipped.”
