What’s got your wand in a knot?
Well, the news that Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson may be retiring from acting! News outlets across the world have caught wind of rumours that the beloved ‘Harry Potter’ actress may be putting away the scripts and props for good. According to a report by The Daily Mail…
“Emma Watson has gone ‘dormant’ according to her agent. That appears to be movie-speak for she’s ‘given up acting’.”
The report goes on to attribute the 30-year-old British actresses’ decision to the fact that Watson was looking to focus on herself and her relationship with rumoured fiance Leo Robinton. The pair have been dating for around a year and a half and were recently spotted back in LA after spending time together in Ibiza.

HOWEVER! Entertainment Weekly (bless them!) managed to get a hold of Watson’s manager at United Entertainment, Jason Weinberg, who confirmed:
“Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t,”
To corroborate his statement, we’ve taken a look at her Instagram bio, and lo and behold, it also reads:
“Emma’s official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated,”
This does not mean that she is completely taken her hands off the wheel from acting. After all, Watson herself has yet to address nor publicly make any announcement with regards to her career – and she is not one to let others speak on her behalf on what she can or can’t do (we stan!).

Since debuting in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ at the age of 9, Emma Watson has appeared in over 20 different projects. From being an integral part in all eight of the ‘Harry Potter’ movies to wowing fans as the enchanting ‘Belle’ in the live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast’, Watson was last seen on screen in 2019 as Meg March in ‘Little Women’. I mean – she’s got a bachelors degree from an Ivy League research university, she’s been hard at work advocating for gender equality, is one of the 100 most influential people in the world and has a net worth that is roughly is $80 million – she’s got more going on in her life than we realise! Here’s to hoping we do see her acting again, but if she chooses not to, we’re just hoping she’s happy doing what she loves!
