Well well well, yet another celebrity has a baby during quarantine!
The 41 year old American actress recently announced that she had welcomed a second baby! She has an almost 2 year old daughter Katherine Swati who was born in December 2017. Kaling has kept the father of her daughter a secret; even from close friends. In fact, Kaling is notoriously private about her pregnancies and her first child, that till today she has only revealed photographs of Katherine’s back. “It’s really essential to my life that there be something not everybody knows about. That’s a boundary, but it’s a very small boundary. Everything else I really don’t have any issue sharing,” she shared in a previous interview with Glamour.

Kaling made the announcement of the birth of her second baby; a son named Spencer who she welcomed on September 3rd during a virtual interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“I got something I rarely get these days, which is good news,” host Stephen Colbert told the audience “so if you wouldn’t mind sharing with our audience I think they’d be thrilled to find out something extraordinary that nobody knows up until this moment.” Kaling replied, “Yes, I’m telling it for the first time now. It feels so strange. This is news to a lot of people. It’s true! His name is Spencer,” she told Colbert. “I forgot the most important part of it.”

According to E Online, Kaling didn’t have an issue hiding her pregnancy due to COVID-19 and the lockdown that has ensued because of it. She even managed to hide her pregnancy despite posting on social media; she just played around with the angles of her photo taking. Especially resorting to taking photos straight on in which her pregnancy wouldn’t be visible.

Kaling’s second baby comes right after the release of her second book Nothing Like I Imagined (Except For Sometimes) which is a collection of her personal essays in which she actually explores the idea of expanding her family,
