2020 just got a whole lot sweeter for Ariana Grande!
The 27-year-old songstress just announced her engagement to her real estate agent beau, Dalton Gomez! Taking to her Instagram account, Grande posted a series of pictures of herself and Gomez (which is rare for the ‘Positions’ singer). The first picture is of the two snuggled up and is accompanied by the caption,
“forever n then some”
But once you tap to see the next picture, Grande can be seen not-so-subtly flashing a glimmering object on her ring finger in a mirror selfie. She also included a close up look of the gorgeous piece – a combination of an off-set oval diamond alongside a delicate pearl, on a thin band.
Peals are symbolically known as being given as a token of affection and love. And while they are said to symbolise wisdom, they also represent purity, interest and loyalty. It is said that the calming effects of pearls can aid in strengthening valuable relationships by conveying a sense of safety. Fans were quick to pinpoint how the pearl is reminiscent of the piece that Granda received from her grandparents way back in 2014.

Coincidence? Maybe. Romantic? Oh, heck yeah!
Sources have said that the pair are over the moon, with PEOPLE magazine sharing their statement:
“They couldn’t be happier, they’re just so excited. This is a happy time for them, both sets of parents are thrilled.”
Grande’s mother, Joan, seemed to echo this statement by commenting on Grande’s Instagram post:
“Sooo sooo sooo happy!!!! Love you two!!!”Â

Grande and Gomez were first linked back in February this year but only went on to confirm their relationship through a sweet video of the pair dancing to her hit collaboration with Justin Bieber, ‘Stuck With U’. Most recently, in between promotions for her upcoming Netflix documentary ‘Excuse Me, I Love You’, she posted a sweet message for her now-fiancé:
“Hbd to my baby my best friend my fav part of all the days 🙂 i love u,”Â
